CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Ford Escape has an acceptable complaint history so far, with leaking rear window problems showing up as the main concern so far. NHTSA complaint data shows an early pattern of problems with stalling while driving.
Another concern is the 2012 Escape rolled onto its roof during an NHTSA side impact test so it only received a marginal side impact rating ... not good.

Car was parked outside and/or driven during heavy rains recently. Windows were closed overnight, doors secured and locked. Moon/sun roof has never been opened. I have had this car for about 15 months, purchased brand new from dealer. I have NEVER had this problem before, even having gone through a car wash at the dealer a few times. I noticed when getting into the car, there was condensation on the inside of the front window only - no other windows. Last winter I had placed heavy plastic mat protectors over the floor mats, driver and passenger sides, front and back (removeable ones). I did notice condensation under the plastic mats in the front only, and when I removed them, found the floor mats (rugs) in the front only,
soaking wet. I am attempting to dry them out by blotting them with towels, but they remain wet. I am hoping that warm weather today will help. I notice NO leaks anywhere, no water coming in anywhere, the seats are not wet, nothing else is wet. If anyone has an idea what caused this please reply - could it have been only from the plastic floor mats? If so - why was there condensation on the inside windshield only? I have had no engine light come on, no warning that the doors or windows were open, etc. No sign of water running down from the firewall. Checked underneath the car and cannot find any place where water could have gone UP. It's a mystery.
