Oil leaking a bit on the driveway for a few months, and then I had an oil change and they said there was no hurry. Took it in and paid $134 for them to "fix it" by tightening the drain plug. They said bring it in to inspect repair a week later. I took it in, and they said it is the timing cover that is leaking, so it has to be replaced, which entails replacing the gasket, water pump, chain etc. The total was labor: $2432 and parts: $2386. The variable valve timing is over $750.
i haven't had it done yet because the worth of the car is about $6000. I don't know if this repair price is on target or not, but it looks like Ford has had issues with this leak before and my warranty is over and they won't help.
