I bought my Ford Escape in Nov. 2010, it is a 2011 my first Ford. I went to the dealership to show them the rust, when I started to tell him about the problem he stopped me and told me about another problem I didn't even know was there. The rust was in the tailgate at the bottom from one end to the other...The problem I was going to tell him about was under the tailgate window on the top of the tailgate, and when he lifted up the seal on the tailgate there was rust all along the top of the tailgate under the window also. The dealership called Ford and they said they would not cover it. I then called Ford and they said after review of the pictures my dealership took and that I took covered all but $250, which I was OK with.
