A/C randomly works, only blows on setting 2 or higher
The air stopped working on setting 1 in my 2011 Ford Escape. Then, the ac started blowing warm air. At times, the air would be cold, esp when first turning on the car or when it was cooler outside. But after blowing nice and cold for a minute or two, it would turn warm again. Also, at times when first turning on the ac it would be so cold that mist/frost would blow out of the vents. I took it in for a recharge. Afterwards, the air blew cold consistently for a couple of weeks, then went warm again. I took it to the same place and they added dye to check for leaks and then recharged it again. They told me "it's fixed. blowing ice cold" So I left and again had working ac, but only for a few days. To this day, it still blows cold when it wants, but never for long. I've just been suffering through it because its about to get cold. The heat seems to work just fine, but again, only on setting 2 or higher so i often get too hot. I'm hoping this issue ends up being a recall because it seems like a lot of other people are having the exact same issue and we shouldn't have to fix it. If anyone found the cure, please let me know. Thanks!
