We had transmission issues in the past. We had our transmission replaced last November in 2014. As of July 2015 we have been having some major slipping issues that have been on going now. Every time we take it to the dealer it seems to never happen for them. We had a guy who works for Ford transmission friend of the family take our vehicle to his work as he ran a bunch of test on it and these are the codes that came back and what he suggest. "TEAM data says it went into test modes because it missed a 3-4 shift that would cause it to possibly stick in 3rd gear, but that would go away if you cycled the ignition. If the problem repeats, eventually you would set a p0734 code (can't get 4th gear)" "Evidence of c456 stuck off. Most likely mechanical/internal rather than hydraulic."

The vehicle when starting when its cold sometimes starts in 3rd gear so when accelerating and picking up speed between 30-40mph its slipping and sounds like the transmission just fell out of the vehicle as the vehicle its self will jump forward. The rpm's will also shoot up and down when this happens.

After getting the report and codes from our family friend we took the vehicle back up to the dealership. They could not decode the codes and told us they couldn't go by the report we had from our guy because he wasn't their's. I then contacted Ford customer service as this still wasn't being resolved they finally agreed to hook up a black box recorder for our vehicle. It was able to record 4 recordings of our transmission acting up in one week. They finally got back with us after that took nearly three weeks for them to let us know what it recorded. They told us that the solenoid body was bad on the transmission. To replace it with labor would be just over $1,300. Said this was not replaced a year ago when we had them replace the transmission. Any knowledge or suggestions on what we could do is greatly appreciated. We have taken our vehicle to two different dealerships now regarding the transmission and also called transmission shops in the area. I really appreciate any help.

Just bought this vehicle 4 months ago and now while driving the car will shift out of gear all by itself. It has happened 5 times already and is very dangerous when on the highway. I'm told there is no manufactors warranty so from what I have read it sounds like we have to get a new transmission. This vehicle only has 70,000 miles on it. How can it already need a new transmission? I went away from Ford for a long time but I thought I would try again with this vehicle and I am very disappointed. I don't have that kind of money to fix this or get a new transmission. I had a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer for all this time and it finally broke down in 2015. I never had any problems with it. Now I buy this 4 months ago and I'm sorry I did.
