engine light on, capless gas entry giving vapor fumes
I just bought this 2010 Ford Escape. I had an incident years ago of someone putting sugar in my tank. I made a point of looking at the gas tank entry, seeing there wasn't any cap. I told the salesman I disagree with Ford's manufacturing change, thinking a cap isn't needed. I had the Escape two days when the check engine light came on. I immediately went back to the dealership. They looked at it, NOT getting the code off it, but told me it read a vapor leak. I commented, so my gas is letting off fumes. He tried to tell me no, it wasn't that. I requested a lock gas cap, not believing this. I did get one. I dislike this change of NO cap.
