This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
We have had problems with this vehicle from day one. Currently the big issue is the throttle body (which I've seen has been a problem with all the Ford Escapes). Also the mass air flow system, heating/air, and security system (also it has a problem not starting---not sure if that's also throttle body). Is this being recalled?
2009 Ford Escape XLT V-6 with 40,900 miles air conditioner won't run shooting warm air when 80* or higher but will provide cold air with cooler outside temperature.
Visible particulate matter of unknown origin coming from interior heating/cooling ducts of 2009 Ford Escape. Dealer kept car for 2 days to "blow out" the system and eliminate the problem but it still persists, causing me to cough and sneeze. Dealer states the white residue is not harmful but I do not agree and would like to have samples tested for toxicity and harmful effects from continuous inhalation.
