I bought a brand new 2009 ford escape and within 6 days the check engin light and the transmission light came on. I took it immediately to the dealer and they told me that the brand new car has a torque converter clutch problem in the transmission, it's a know issue and the transmission needed to be replaced. So far it is 4 days and counting without my vehicle. They did give me a rental but there are so many bells and whistles on the car no one showed me so I had to read the vehicle's manual. I never got an update from the service department. I called my sales person on the way to the dealer and asked her to come see me and she never did. The owners of the dealership's daughter is the finance person and she saw me sitting in the waiting area, I told her the issue and she never bothered to call me with even an update. The service department act like they are just changing the oil on a Sunday afternoon. When I bought the car several people made it a point to tell me how to fill out the customer survey ford send out so they don't look bad. I am also contacting ford directly about this all of this. If they don't jump through a lot of hoops to satisfy me after this I will never buy another ford again.
