When I go start the vehicle, it won't start until you turn the wheel many times. It is very annoying & one of these times it just won't start!!!

The problem is getting worse. I think with something like this there should be a recall. This would be a manufacturer problem. But as usual the consumer has to pay the big bucks to get it fixed!!!!!

Escape LX 300

We bought this Escape in 2013 and had this problem from the beginning. You put the key in ignition and turn and nothing. The salesman told us it's a safety thing. You have to push in when turning. This helped for the first three years. Twice now we have been stranded for hours because it won't start. There is absolutely nothing when you turn the key (even when you push it in and turn it). After about 30 turns and couple hours it will start right up. We still have 3 years of payments on this piece of sh*t, why is there no recalls on this? Ford should be glad I haven't had my young grand kids with me when this has happened or else I would be on their doorsteps when it finally started. 3 more years of payments and scared to drive it in the winter for fear of being stranded and freezing to death

I took the car in to Auto Zone. They read the issue and determined it to be the battery so I replaced that. Check engine light came back on. However, it was good for a few days then started happening again. Then I had trouble starting it at work one day and when it started it was really rough and the check engine light was blinking. I did go ahead and drive it home. Wound up taking it to a friend of mine's son. Well I actually had it towed. He changed out the spark plugs but that didn't fix it. I then had to drive it (used my free AAA tow already) to another home and this mechanic used the code reader. He wound up replacing a coil pack and injector. Check engine light went off for less than a day and then came back on. Start up issues started up again and have slowly gotten worse. I almost didn't get it started this morning. I have actually ordered my own code reader but I'm not sure I can wait until it comes in since it was so hard to start this morning. This car has died on me while driving more times than I can count. I've taken it in for every recall and I've told them about the issue. They find NOTHING wrong with it. How can that be? It dies when driving at various times. I can go months where it's fine and then all of sudden it dies in the middle of the highway. I've complained about this before and researched it but there is NO RECALL for this issue. This car has been problem after problem. I just need three more years out of it so I can get a different car. The problem is it may not make it that long. I am baffled at the lack of response by Ford regarding the issues surrounding this vehicle. If the car dies while pulling out into oncoming traffic you could possibly be severely or critically injured. This is not okay! As a single mom I need to know that when I start my car it's going to work. I've gotten it fixed, I get the oil changed regularly and it didn't show up on the code reading prior to my last issue which it was doing this beforehand. It didn't go away and then come back. I don't think the start issue and the randomly dying are related but who knows. I am at a total loss at this point. I don't have much faith in Ford products at the moment.

Escape Limited 3.0L

SUV won’t start when it’s hot and won't restart until the vehicle is cold (may take up to 4 hours depending on the ride). Everything else works but won’t start. Ford dealer check the battery and the alternator and both were in good shape (vehicle was checked after it was left overnight and was cold). Dealer recommended to do 90 mile service and replaced the fuel filter. Since then if the vehicle is used for over an hour it won’t start after it gets cold again.
