Today while driving approx 30 miles into a 100 mile trip, I noted a vibration in the transmission while in traffic on the interstate. I was on and off the gas steady while in traffic when all of a sudden the car would not accelerate over 60 mph. I noted the RPM was at 2000 and the more I pushed down on the peddle to try and shift to a higher gear, the vibration became more pronounced. Had I encountered a steep grade incline at that time, I don't know what would have happened but I suspect my safety would have been at risk. I finally found a spot to safely pull over and checked the transmission fluid level while idling in park. It was full and clean with no burning odor noticed. I got back in and merged back onto the road and experienced no further shifting or vibration issue for my remaining 70 miles. As soon as I pulled into my garage, I gave the car a good look all over (to include the tires) and all was fine.
