Same time as the sway bar links failed (see separate report). The bushings of the control arms were worn out - at 91,000 km. that should not happen. On top of that, they can not be replaced!!! You have to buy COMPLETE new control arms ($around $200 each) to get it fixed! Thank you FORD!!! To make that much clear, that vehicle went NEVER off road, just easy paved road driving, no towing to speak of and no abuse! I do not know what happened to Ford, since I previously owned a 2002 and 2005 Escape, which never had any problems. I loved them, that is why I cot a 2008 Escape. I which I had not.......... Problem is also that Ford does not acknowledge problems with the 2008 Escape. That iks the main reason I will pass to by a Ford in the near future, rather try my luck with other manufacturer. The customer service can only be better, sorry, but that is my personal experience.
