We were sitting in a drive thru and went to leave and gas pedal was flat on the floorboard. Had towed to dealer. They said throttle cable broke. Fix was to replace it and clean the throttle body, injectors etc. Cost was approximately $800.00. Looked up problem on internet and found this to be a fairly common problem. Called Ford dealer and said they could not fix it for free and was given the Ford Corporate number. (800-392-3673). Roger took info then put me on hold. Came back and said there was nothing they could do. I explained that we could of been killed while driving if this had happened at the wrong time. He cared less. I told him I wanted to talk to his boss and finally he agreed to have them call me back within 24 hours. If they do I do not expect anything to change. It's obvious Ford could care less. I followed a link on here posted by someone else and reported it to the NHTSA. I try to buy American but with the records of the Big Three I am forced to go back to Honda. Owned them in the past and they have always been excellent vehicles.
