I have this new developing problem of this infamous idler pulley bolt busting! First time happened beginning of May 2018 and then again 2 days ago!!! July 2, 2018! When this happened I lost my power steering which was scary. I'm pretty pissed off, I've been reading how much of a problem this is.
WHY HAS THERE BEEN NO SOLUTION UGH! So here I am, back to having no vehicle because of what is clearly a manufacturer defect. Being disabled and having quite a bit of dr appointments, awesome! Ford needs to own up to this sh*t! This damn thing wasn't cheap, I'm still paying for it! I think every one who has this issue needs to start a group so we can raise some hell with the company! Then maybe we could get some better solutions to this problem!!
In November 2015 we took Escape in for routine maintenance, two days later idler pulley broke. It was "fixed" and then a few weeks later it broke again, once again was "fixed" at repair company's expense. two more times it broke. It was repaired again both times at repair company's expense. After last time we took it to a ford dealership, they informed us we had to change the engine block because it will continue to break. Then after everything else it's not covered by extended warranty!
