Every time it rains, water leaks under the carpet in the front of the car. The area where the pedals are gets the most rain, but the passenger side also gets water. The dealer says they can look into it but don't know what the solution could be. They have had the car for numerous other problems but cannot explain this one though they say it may be from the moonroof but that never was wet until today 10-9-2022.

I am VERY concerned because my wet shoe can slip off the pedal and cause an accident. I called Ford's customer service, but the CSR said they don't have enough complaints about this issue to warrant any recalls for repairs.

I am also concerned about mold in the car.

I should just get a new car but can't afford one right now.

Water is getting in under the driver's side carpet. Not sure how- all seals seem to be intact and in the correct place. Sunroof has also simultaneously started leaking for some reason. Water stains on my moonroof shade and seats. I don't know how to fix this and it is causing me a lot of problems and costing a lot of money- someone please help!

I believe this is a problem with the moonroof. Had the drainage holes blown out with an air compressor and that didn't work. Next step is to call and see how much it will be to replace the seal.

Escape XLT FWD 3.0L Duratec V6

This problem has happened about 5 different times. Took it to the dealer and they could not reproduce the problem so they were not interested anymore. One of the times it happened the well area (were the bottom of the lock sticks up) was full of water, the carpet near that area was also wet, and the rubber seal in that area had water in the middle of it. This problem has happened even when the Escape has not been moved or opened. So I know that it's not from opening the back hatch when it was raining. Worried about mildew under and in the carpet; and not to mention causing rust. Every time it rains have to go out and open the back hatch and check for water and dry up the area when there is water. Each time it has happened there has been different amounts of water. Brand new Escape (still making payments), Ford mechanics can't reproduce it so no interest, and always make sure the back hatch and back window is closed tightly. Water has to be coming down through the lock because that is the only area that is wet and has water puddling up. Can't unlock the back hatch with a key because there is no key slot; no water getting in that way. If the back window was leaking looks like it would be wet in more than one area. Back window washer assembly, small Ford logo plate, and where you search up under to push the buttons to open the the glass or the hatch is all that is left for water to get in at. Totally maddening and frustrating problem. Thanks for having this place to talk about it.
