Heater fan speed were down from 3 speeds to one. Looked online and the heater motor fan resistor was identified as the culprit. Pulled the module out and replaced the resistor inside the air duct to the fan with a part from Rock Auto for about $15. Another example of incredibly poor FORD engineering or procurement of cheap OEM parts.
anyone have a clue as what it might be? right after i left dealer with no warranty /also have engine light come on and off and it had a new transmission at like 47,000 miles. seems like a cheap made suv. but the fan control with the speeds is my main issue right know
Same problem as others. Did not matter much but now it is really getting cold in Michigan so have to take it in to fix. Maybe will google videos and try a DIY.
I have had multiple issues with my Ford Escape. Which is difficult because I do love my car. The a/c has been a problem about 3 times. I think I've had 2 blower motors replaced and something else done to make it work right. Both times it would not blow on 4 speeds. I would get low and super high. It's fixed now, but what a pain when the temps run in the 90's in the mid-west. Brutal.
No real gripe, just wanted to add the problem. Fan switch does not work in position 1, 2, or 3 - just on high (4). Need to do some investigation and see if I can fix it before I decide it has to go to the garage.
