CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.
Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

This vehicle never spent any time in the north, it's been in the south all of it's life. I would have thought that it was up north but it's just cheap quality metal that rusts very easily. I have noticed it around the fender wells only nowhere else. Found out that this is a common problem with these older Escapes, only thing that can be done is if you cut out the metal and weld in a new piece and paint it.
