CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I own a 2007 Ford Escape, in which I purchased as a new vehicle in 2007. Within 500 miles of that purchase date, I ended up bringing the vehicle back to my dealership (prestigue Ford) dallas, Texas for repairs. The trouble was that the ac went completely out. Due to the warranty they repaired it. On 5/4/11, the ac went out again in which I sent it to an automobile ac specialist which diagnosed the problem as a ac compressor with clutches out. My vehicle is less than 4 years old and has 66,000 on it. There is no way that the ac would have gone out this early in its life. I would like to speak with someone to report this issue as it may be a trend towards a recall. I can be reached at [xxx]. I should not expect to pay for a $1200 expenditure on a 2007 vehicle with less than 66,000 miles. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
