CarComplaints.com Notes: With solid trends of engine failure — $4,500 to fix at 85,000 miles avg — AND transmission failure — $3,000 to fix at 75,000 miles avg — we can't recommend the 2006 Ford Escape to anyone except your worst enemy.
I pull up, put the gear shifter into the park position, but the dashboard shows that the car is not in a designated gear. (There is no box around the "P" on the dashboard) I am assuming that this problem and my other problems (can't get key out of steering column, seat belt won't "click", and car won't leave park - especially when cold!) are somehow related....I wish they were distant cousins!
