CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2005 Escape has problems where the engine shuts down while driving. Ford finally issued a September 2014 recall. Time will tell if the recall fix really solves the problem.
However the 2005 Escape also has a defect where the PCM (Power Control Module) fries at around 100k miles. Ford extended the PCM warranty to 80,000 miles, but only after most owners were past the mileage limit. Now owners are on the hook for the average repair cost of over $2,000 (!!)

I just bought this 2005 Ford Escape Limited SUV. The driver seat has a 6 way power seat. It...tilts to the left. I paid almost $500 to have it reupholstered, yet it still feels very odd. the entire seat cushion leans toward the driver door. Could I put spacers in the 2 left side bolts(where the seat bolts to the floorboard)?
I don't know how to resolve this issue.
Update from Feb 13, 2017: It's the driver seat cushion that tilts or "leans" to the left. I tried putting in spacers where the seat bolts into the floorboard, however the bolts would not fit properly, so I had to abort that idea,
