Experienced severe engine misfires (CEL flashing) after (1) washing the car and (2) sitting outside through a hard rain. Cracks developed in the epoxy potting on top of coils and allowed water entry, electrical shorting. Can't really be too mad about it considering the car is 18 years old, although I understand cracked ignition coils were a common problem in certain middle 2000s Fords. 3 of my 6 coils were visibly cracked, but replaced all coils and spark plugs considering age and difficulty of removing intake manifold for access. Engine back to running perfectly. Great vehicle otherwise.
