About a year ago I took my vehicle to Byerly Ford for a recall complaint, it was for the ABS. However, no sooner than I got my car back the ABS light came back on. So I called and complained and the person who answered was very rude and said that they fixed the connector. Although they told me this, I was still having the same problems. My brake pedal was hard to press down on and almost caused me to have a car accident. Fortunately I had a friend that lived right up the road who took a look and saw that the connector was not in place right and temporarily fixed it.

I actually called today to talk to the service tech to explain to him what was going on and to look back on the service order to explain to me what they did with my vehicle and he told me they replaced some sort of connector and I explained to him it was never fixed properly and he told me that was unfortunate because the recall had already ended? I never heard of a recall ending and I do not want to pay for a repair that's supposed to be covered under this recall warranty, especially when the problem has never been fixed correctly to begin with. I did, however, schedule an appointment for this coming up Friday and I intend on bringing a list of recalls I printed out with me along with some research I've gathered so I know for certain the problems are covered under the recall and are also fixed before I leave.

I had my 2003 ford escape maintenance for brakes issues one too many times. Several times the ABS light will come on and i will take it to the mechanic to get it repaired. I'm so tired of all this money is been costing me. Since these problems happened constantly. I couldn't afford a professional mechanic anymore. I had to get a private mechanic that is my family mechanic for year. So he knows what hes doing. However in February my mechanic worked in the truck and replaced my brake pads and other parts in it. Everything was and been good but the ABS light never when out. (is been 6 months since i been driving the truck with the ABS light on). The mechanic tried to get the light to shut off but couldn't get it done. He told me to bring the truck to Ford but I purchase the truck at Summit Auto in Waterford, i purchase the car AS IS so even if i take it to summit i have to pay. I'm so overwhelmed with this situation, so pissed off cause i just paid this truck off this year and it cost me over $12,000. Summit Auto sold me a LEMON and since i bought it AS IS, im stuck with all these costly repairs. My problem and concern now is my truck just now would not shift into drive. I was in the drive thru of the pharmacy, i turned the truck off for like 3 minutes and when i started the truck, i proceeded to shift into drive and it got stuck on neutral. I turned the car on and off and couldn't manage for the truck to shift gears. It turns on with no problem, but now i have the engine light on, the ABS light still one and also my seat belt light is on and they wont go off. My mechanic ghetto fixed the truck with a wire to hold cable into the shifter. i drove it home. I don't even know what other step to take. my mechanic told me to buy the cable and he will replace but im tired of spending money in this truck.

My mechanic fixed this problem by cutting the lines and by passing something. I also find that the brakes lock up when it is really cold.

Took Escape to dealer for recall on ABS in 2008. Supposedly fixed. Then new rotors this year & brake pads 2009 & 2011. New tires. Anytime I apply brakes Escape wants to grab, grab, grab!! I saw online @ carcomplaints.com another recall for abs was opened in jan 2010 but I was never notified. Thanks for the time, Peggie
