This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
2002 Ford Escape V6. Multiple problems the the automatic transmission, shuddering, and now a total failure. For the shuddering the fluid was flushed and replaced with a different type, and new codes programed. Haven't taken it in for the total failure yet. (tomorrow)
There was a burning smell coming from the vehicle's clutch and it wouldn't go into 1st or 2nd gear. The dealer was notified. Ph the transmission failed, and the clutch burned. The cable was reinstalled. There was a chattering in the clutch, and the clutch pedal had gone to the floor before being able to shift. The entire clutch system was replaced. Also the slave cylinder was bled. Scc
