I have had this '02 escape since I bought it in Sept. of 2002. I have had absolutely no problems with this car.......EXCEPT for the fact that it is a rust bucket! The engine is awesome, the interior is ok, but for some odd reason, most 2002 escapes have rust on the rear fender?? I have 293,000 miles on this rust bucket AND I have NEVER replaced the transmission! Yes, it is a slow poke 4 cylinder manual transmission, but this car doesn't owe me a dime! If you have the chance to ever own a 4 cylinder manual transmission.........DO IT!! Just watch the rust on the rear fender.
