While braking for a red light the car jerked sporadically as it slowed with normal braking applied but the brakes delayed while vehicle jerked and lunged forward. Vehicle lunged forward into the intersection even further past the red light while brake was compressed aggressively, lunged forward 2-3 feet. Then engine died after it lunged forward. Took 2 attempts to restart car and had to rev the engine to move from blocking intersection.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to identify cause of the failure. The mechanic found no failure with the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.
