Driving from Ok to Denver Int'l Airport. About 150 miles out of Denver the Wrench icon and "Check Engine Soon" message popped up. Within 5 miles, the car starting jolting and revving at 6 rpms. I started driving 60 mph so it would rev at 4 rmps. If I attempted a turn, the car tried to stall. As I, thankfullly, pulled into the airport near the car rental return area, the transmission completely clunked and died. We had it carted back to Oklahoma by a professional, costing around $1100. The dealer said the transmission is completely dead, will cost over $8000 to repair and the wait will be long to get a replacement part. With over $17,000 still owing on the car, another $10000 to haul and repair really isn't ideal. Don't buy Ford!
