The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was jerking. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

Additionally, the contact was informed that the ABS sensor and the wheel speed sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the RPMs began fluctuating very quickly. The transmission was slipping, causing the vehicle to lose motive power. The vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road however, the gear shifter failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the torque converter failed and sent metal particles throughout the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the diagnostic result was confirmed; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 103,534.
