The contact stated that while the electronic rear hatch door was opened, the contact stated while placing items into the rear hatch, the rear hatch door erroneously closed making striking the contact. During the failure no injury was reported. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that a rear hatch door shock had failed. No further information was available.
