TSB Document:
Affected Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV)
- Summary
- Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles built on 23-Sep-2018 and through 28-Mar-2019 and 2019 Edge/Nautilus/Continental/MKZ vehicles built on 4-Dec-2018 and through 29-Mar-2019 and Fusion vehicles built on 16-Jan-2019 and through 12-Apr-2019 equipped with a 2.7L/3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the incorrect positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve installed. If the PCV valve is brown in color, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual for normal diagnostics. If the PCV valve is gray in color, replace the PCV valve, clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC returns, refer to the PC/ED for normal diagnostics.
