FORD has an electrical problem with its electrical start. It won't recognize the lock signal when you try to lock your car. It tells you the KEY FOB is not detected when you are sitting in your car holding your key fob. Therefore your car won't start.
I had the same problem with my Explorer and thought it was the Explorer so I traded it in for a 2019 Ford Edge. Now 3 months past purchase with only 4,000 miles, I am having the same problem with my Edge. Next step for me is to get a SUBARU, I have read good reviews on this vehicle. I CAN NOT be someplace and not be able to start my car!!!!
I took my Explorer in to the dealership multiple times with them telling me it was my battery in my key fob! Of course after a new battery and a new key fob it STILL kept giving me the KEY FOB NOT DETECTED. So I traded it in on the Edge, now I am having the same type of issue with the Edge.
FORD has a problem and will probably be losing this long standing customer.
