Sept 16, 2023. 62 degrees. 8:30 pm. Sandusky, OH. Walked to our car after a long day of fun at Cedar Point Amusement Park. Wife and kids are in the car and their doors are shut. I open the drivers door and before I could sit down the rear window shattered. Nothing touched it. No one around. Just shattered. Ford will not replace the rear window as the car is out of warranty. I explained the scenario and was told “It happens with tempered glass, sometimes you can hit it with a hammer and it’ll be fine. Sometimes you look at it funny and it’ll shatter. look it up.” Safelite replaced it for $820. I chose the OEM window, you have the option but you have to bring it up. I have a $1000 deductible so filing an insurance claim was pointless. The window tint doesn’t match and now I’m just waiting for it to happen again. Otherwise love my Edge. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
