Sept 16, 2023. 62 degrees. 8:30 pm. Sandusky, OH. Walked to our car after a long day of fun at Cedar Point Amusement Park. Wife and kids are in the car and their doors are shut. I open the drivers door and before I could sit down the rear window shattered. Nothing touched it. No one around. Just shattered. Ford will not replace the rear window as the car is out of warranty. I explained the scenario and was told “It happens with tempered glass, sometimes you can hit it with a hammer and it’ll be fine. Sometimes you look at it funny and it’ll shatter. look it up.” Safelite replaced it for $820. I chose the OEM window, you have the option but you have to bring it up. I have a $1000 deductible so filing an insurance claim was pointless. The window tint doesn’t match and now I’m just waiting for it to happen again. Otherwise love my Edge.
