The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated while starting the vehicle, the engine revved significantly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the canister purge valve was replaced several times; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 113,996.
