Just search the web, folks. Ford knows there is a problem but will not admit it! The glass I had to purchase to replace my "spider-webbed" sun roof glass was tempered glass... THEIR ORIGINAL GLASS WAS LAMINATED AND it delaminated!! Ford knows this so they changed the type of glass in replacements - which are expensive...
We have 3 Fords: 1955, 2016 RS, and 2016 Edge. We have always been faithful to Ford and yet they told us to "Pound-sand" or tough luck. Shame on Ford for not replacing our sunroof glass. What happened to a company which stands behind their product? "Behind" has a new meaning: Hide Behind a poor decision.
I bought this car second hand and within the first month had to have all of the rear lights replaced due to condensation building up in them after rain, car washing, or just heavy morning dew. In addition, after 22,000 miles I noticed that the steering wheels vibrated while the car was idling which didn't happen before. The dealer said that was normal - NORMAL!
I am disappointed with my purchase AND Ford's unwillingness to admit any problems. CHECK THE WEB! This glass problem is NOT NEW and yet they won't admit that laminated glass instead of tempered glass SHOULD have been installed. I HAVE THE LAMINATED GLASS and will keep it for proof.
I invite Ford to step up and do the right thing.
