This is a problem that Ford is well aware of but will only go half way to fix. They will cover the cost of replacing the flexplate but only if it is damaged and the vehicle mileage is 100k or less. Over 100k miles up to 120k they will pay 50% of cost to replace. We received the notice and had the dealership inspect it, they said there was no issue. Now that the vehicle is over 121k miles the flexplate cracks without warning. Ford will make no exceptions even if you're only one mile over 120k. There was no indications that a failure was imminent. The cracked flexplate damaged the torque convertor and trans fluid pump so now those have to be replaced as well. If not done right one can expect the flexplate to fail again sooner than later. It's all bullshit if you ask me.
