CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2016 Edge is starting to show a similar trend to the prior model year of the engine stalling while driving, which owners report is typically caused by low-mileage problems with the throttle body. This is typically considered a safety defect.
Car would not accelerate, had to coast to the side of the road. Hill assist not available and the Wrench on the screen. Car works fine after I shut off and restart. This is the second time in less than a week this has happened. I will take it in to the dealer but I know they will not find the problem unless I can get the trouble code.
Rough idle at traffic light, Air Bag light on, check manual displayed, no power. I limped it into a parking lot wrench display on rough idle shut it down. Wait a few minutes started right back up then ran fine. Once before this a similar issue but in about a second or two it cleared and ran fine until now.
Car purchased in April. Made one long trip. Got home. 1 month later nearly stranded by throttle body failure. Limped home @ 15mph - Orange Wrench + Engine Light + No Acceleration [after SUDDEN DECELERATION]. Fortunately in light traffic on freeway feeder. And, NOT in Michigan!
Ford did arrange for tow. Dealer repaired same day. Sounds like Ford Dealer Repair Facilities are ready with the parts for this type failure.
