My car started making a weird noise, but at first it was only when ac was turned on. Now there's a weird noise all the time, it’s currently waiting to go into the shop, and I'm hoping to have the money to be fixed as warranty is up. Now it’s draining my battery and acting like it doesn’t want to start. This is my only car. I really need it fixed. The mechanic said it’s the flex plate?? And they don’t know how much to fix just yet. I think if Ford is aware of this issue, they should issue a recall. I don’t think I will ever be buying a Ford again when they know it’s an issue.
Was told by dealer that the flex plate was cracked/chipped & in order to repair the proper Ford way it would probably run around $8,000. We do have an extended warranty with Fidelity Warranty & so far they may not cover this. Since researching complaints, found a lot of customers that have this issue. Also I believe Ford is recalling the 2018s to fix this problem. My problem is if Ford knows about this, they should cover the repairs.
