The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the trunk failed to open while using the key fob or the trunk button inside the vehicle. Additionally, the trunk warning light was illuminated while the trunk was properly closed, causing the battery to drain. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the trunk sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
