CarComplaints.com Notes: There was plenty of hope that Ford would fix their “door ajar†warning light issue for the 2014 model year. This widespread problem has caused the previous 3 model years to stay on top of defect trend lists.
So far, the 2014 Edge doesn't share the poor reputation of prior model years.

melting of plastic that holds windshield
I was in a snow storm - got stuck on a road for 5 1/2 hours, with the car in park, or turned off at times, noticed two days later that the plastic on my windshield below the wipers was melted in two different areas. Now going in to get inspected - not covered by insurance, or warranty. Should I just let it start on fire so that it is claimable? I don't believe I should be the one covering this, seems like a manufacturing problem to me.
Electrical or heater coil not sure but I'm just ticked that I have to cover this. I think someone at FORD should look into this matter.
