CarComplaints.com Notes: There was plenty of hope that Ford would fix their “door ajar†warning light issue for the 2014 model year. This widespread problem has caused the previous 3 model years to stay on top of defect trend lists.
So far, the 2014 Edge doesn't share the poor reputation of prior model years.

excess window fogging at or below 40 degrees outside
My 2014 Ford Edge has had an issue with excessive window fogging at or below 40 degrees outside since the first winter I owned the vehicle. I bought the vehicle brand new. Upon first experiencing the issue, I called the dealership where I bought the vehicle (Empire Ford, Abingdon, VA) to ask if it was a know issue. They told me that it was not and that they had not had any other complaints. With that, I just dealt with the issue by keeping my window down a little all winter for 2014 and 2015. On Nov. 26th, my family went out for the evening. There was 4 of us in the vehicle. It was around 35 degrees outside. We absolutely could not keep the windows from fogging all around, even the front window. We tried every combination, example... heat plus a/c. Nothing at all worked. This is a MAJOR safety hazzard. The next day, my husband searched the internet and found that this was an issue with 2014 Ford Edges made at the Oakville plant. He called Empire Ford and made an appointment, took it in on Dec. 6th. They confirmed that it was made in the Oakville plant. However, they said that when they hooked it up to recalibrate the defrost system that it showed up to date and that nothing was wrong with it. Oh my goodness.....something is majorly wrong when you cannot see out of your windows while driving!!
