CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar†warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

While on a trip this past weekend noticed a burnt rubber smell while downshifting in Sports mode while driving up a grade. The same problem occurred going down the other side of the mountain. Coming back a day later, noticed the same smell while accelerating up a grade in automatic. Did not notice any smell while on flat grades. As per some other complaints, did not have the AC on, but did use the heater quite a bit due to the temp.
Taking the car to the dealer tomorrow. I have the extended warranty, but probably will cost me a $100.00 to find the problem. I'm extremely worried about it, as have to make another 6-hour drive up and down the mountains in a week.
