Surging at low speed travel was originally an annoyance but it started getting worse. Quick check on the Edge forums and it seemed to be the electronic throttle body which I quickly replaced and after a few days with new genuine ford part it is back although not as pronounced. How long till it is not drivable, I don't know.
Over time the issue has gotten worse and I experience problems every drive. Without warning, while driving my car will accelerate. Then my car will jolt, somewhat like a slipping feel.
I was parking my car when I heard a loud noise and the vehicle accelerated, knocked down a fence and went over an embankment. Air bag went off & I had minor injuries. Lucky it wasn't worse. Vehicle probably totaled.
CAR ACCELERATED WHILE BACKING UP ON ITS OWN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE IN A PARKING LOT HITTING TWO OTHER VEHICLES. THANKFUL NO ONE WAS HURT. HOPE FORD TAKES CARE OF THIS. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT NOW
