The Edge is in the shop now. Something unknown is causing the battery to run down. At first we thought it was the battery which we replaced, but then it has happened 2 more times. I don't know for how much or even if it will be repaired.
Recharged the battery. Had problems with the battery; this new one is only a few years old and spent more to get an AGM battery. Door ajar light comes on and I'm thinking this may be the problem with the battery losing power. Right now I am charging the battery out of the car to see if it holds a charge since it was fully charged and tested yesterday, only to be almost dead today.
Error message said turn off engine and remove keys when I had already done that. Had to put keys back in ignition start it up and turn it off a few times in a row to stop error message. Replaced battery Dec. 28, 2016 and still dealing with battery issues.
I believe the battery was worn down ,because of interior lights staying on for long periods of time. And thinking the driver door was ajar wearing down the battery. A two year old battery should have gone dead like that. And then they woudlnt even prorate it.Very Upset and discouraged !!!!!

2013 Edge with a bad door latch. While waiting for a dealer appointment to look at "door ajar" problem, now the battery is being drained since the dome lights stay on forever. Had to keep the battery charger hooked-up in the garage so the car was driveable. Finally took the car to the dealer and paid $262 to replace a defective door latch. Be advised, this car is only 40 months old and has only 25K miles. Apparently Ford feels it is normal for their vehicles to break right after the 36 month warranty runs out, regardless of mileage. Complained to Ford Consumer, just got the typical Ford blow-off. LAST FORD I WILL EVER BUY !! JRussellKs
a battery that is only three years old should not die yet. most new batteries should go for over 5 years. A friend that has a 2013 Lincoln had to have his battery also replace. I think these batteries that were supplied to Ford for this model year were flawed and this should be covered under warranty or a recall.
