The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the brakes became inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated while driving and attempting to slow down to stop, the brake pedal became soft, and depressed to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who bled the brake lines however, the failure recurred. The brake lines were bled again however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. The VIN was not available.
