CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar†warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

First, there was absolutely no prior indication that attention needed to be paid. One day out of nowhere there was a really loud horrible grind noise I heard over my music and closed windows. I brought my car to an immediate stop while rolling my window down. I was stunned. But it didn't make another sound from there to my house (approx. 3 miles). I brought my vehicle in at 7:30 am to have my guys look at what was going on. Driving to the garage nothing, no sound. After about 10-15 minutes, Tory came and told me the inside brake pad on the rear passenger side was sticking and had worn deep grooves by the brake pad that was worn down to the metal. How can something like that happen without any previous warning from the system? Cost to replace pad and rotors $457.
