CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

For unknown reason brakes deteriorated and in some cases did not work. I could have create awful accident. Then I applied for the service and they replaced Ford Edge brake booster vacuum. I usually drive very careful and never overload brakes or engine, in a very safe manner. Just after 2.5 years of a new car revealed such defect.

As I brought in my 2013 Ford Edge for the Power Booster extended warranty replacement recall, it was noted that my Brake rotors needed resurfacing. Then the Dealership called to indicate that they could not resurface but had to replace the rotors. When asked why I needed to replace Rotors at only 19,513 miles they indicated probably due to my driving style. I have been driving for nearly 40 years and have owned numerous vehicles prior and currently including two other Fords and never had I had to replace brake rotors at less than 40K+ miles. Upon researching on web it appears that there are significant number of Ford vehicles needing rotors replace at under 20K miles and many are 2013 vehicles. When appealed my case to the service center I was told there was nothing they could do other than give me a $25 coupon. If my driving style/habits were at fault I would accept that but I have not had this issue on 4 other Fords, 2 Chevys, 2 Nissans, 1 Subaru, 1 Chrysler, or 1 Mazda. I am truly disappointed in both the dealer and Ford not standing up to support the fact that it appears that their factory Rotors are sub par. Maybe it is time to put ford behind me. I am not asking for full restitution although that would be ideal, but even just picking up the parts or a portion of the labor.
