CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar†warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.

The door ajar light is coming on when the doors are all shut. Have to keep shutting the drivers door to get it to turn off. Interior light also stays on.
The driver's door ajar warning light and alarm goes off even when the door is securely latched. Slamming door doesn't help and interior light can stay on drawing down the battery. This is a safety issue since it can't be certain if the door is really closed. Alarm goes off every time car slows down or stops. This was a problem the day we purchased the vehicle and was repaired by the dealer that day. It began happening again last week.
The door ajar alarm stays on regardless of if the door is closed or not. Only the driver's front door seems to be affected. Sometimes repeatedly closing the door (15+ times) will finally make the alarm go off.
There is an issue related to the driver side door latch. The car will not lock the constantly chimes the door is open when it is closed. Even after manually locking the door, the locks pop back up. Initially the problem started periodically and could be corrected by opening and closing the door several times. There were times when simply opening the window tripped the door ajar indicator. This is a safety issue not being able to close the door and have the constant chime and interior lights on.

Second time door ajar indicator came on in 1 year, drivers door and driver passenger door had to be replaced to the amount of $ $650. When this happens the inside light stays on, which in turn drains the battery. Obviously this happens a lot because there are self help videos to disable the mechanisms. I am inquiring as to being reimbursed for the above amount. I believe there is a problem due to the fact that the mechanism went bad on the same side.
