CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar†warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.

I was unaware of this problem when I bought the car on May 25, 2015. It was during a very bad thunder/rain/hail storm that other cars were pulling over under the bridge on the Interstate with their flashers on, so I tried to do the same. I took the car to my mechanic. He told me it would be very costly to fix but maybe another option was to look at vehicles where the parts may be interchangeable with the 2011. I've have asked him on 3 different occasions if he had something to fix this & said he has not finished his research as yet.
My personal opinion is that this is a safety issue and should be recalled. I sure would like this feature to work!
