CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar†warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.
The sync system is a joke. Ford is a huge joke in itself!
Around November 2017 my sync system (the whole screen/radio/temp/seats) went black. I was confused at first so I turned my vehicle off and turned it back on. The screen came back on. It wouldn't have any issues and then it would just pick a random day and do it again. As time went on the time that the screen would stay black would last for days and then into months. It is not November 2018, the screen has been off since April 2018. I don't see it coming back at all.
The dealership didn't have a clue at what I was talking about. My warranty had already ran up. I talked with a few shops. One shop said that with my model that my sync would have to be replaced with another sync system. This in all would cost about $2200. This is ridiculous!
Keep in mind that without this screen I can no longer use the radio, the gps, can only change temperatures with the few buttons I have under the screen and on the wheel, no seat warmers, no back up camera but it does still beep when backing up. I know I sound pretty ungrateful but damn.. I miss my radio!

Sync System screen fails. Black screen and no response. A reset does not work. Will randomly come back on then shut off after a few days.
