My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I-??ve had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other ford edge owners have had the same problem.
White powder substance coming from dash air vents, mainly passenger side, when first starting car, and turning on fan, after researching problem on internet, have seen hundreds of same complaints and concerns, with no solution from Ford dealerships across country, starting approximately since 2007, experiencing severe nausea and headaches
Brake booster is failing, hissing, making braking near I.possible. This is intermittent condition. Also had airbag recall completed, and now the clock spring has failed, dealer will not fix.

Door on driver side does not latch. It says door ajar even though door is shut. Sometimes it latches sometimes doesnt. If it does latch once I start driving it un latches and light comes back on. I have children so its un safe for myself and them.
Break booster.... air when pressing pedal then a whistling noise from pedal breaks are either spongey or hard to press at all while holding break at stop light of you sit there long enough the car starts to rock like it is trying to move this is in our city.
While driving down the highway, my heater started blowing cold air and within 5-10 minutes my gas pedal would no longer accelerate. 1-2 minutes after my gas pedal would no longer accelerate, my engine light came on. Thankfully this happened as I was approaching an exit and I was able to exit the highway before my car overheated and completely shut off. My car overheated 1-2 minutes after my engine light came on. There were no signs of any problems on my car before this all happened. It was very sudden. I was about 1.5 hours away from home and had to have my car towed. A mechanic looked at it and said the coolant is completely draining out. They use an entire gallon of coolant and it poured out of my car immediately, in under a minute. As of right now, I have to replace the water pump on my car. However, in order to replace the water pump, the mechanic said they have to completely remove my front engine in order to access the water pump. This will call for at least 12 hours of labor, raising cost of what should have been around $200 for a new water pump to between $1700-$2100. If the mechanics find that the coolant has indeed mixed with my engine oil and ruined my engine, then I will have to completely replace my engine, raising the cost further to $7K+. according to kelley blue book, if I end up having to replace the engine, this will cost about 2-3 times what my car is worth.
Cooling - we had repairs done in the air & coolant. Nothing works in this car. We went to Ford grody to get a rental as their letter specified but there is a 130 on their waiting list for a rental car ( alternate transportation) we been waiting 3 years. Till now no parts is available yet
'takata recall' I am very disappointed and unsafe with my Ford Edge, for the last few weeks it has been shutting off when the car comes to a stop or in idle. There is no codes or any warning signs that comes up. The car just losses power and sh*ts off on its own. I am tired of fixing and spending money behind my Ford Edge I know it has nothing to do with the engine because it was recently replaced last year July under warranty also I replaced all tensions and the water pump also spark plugs. I took it to my main mechanic and he could not figure out what's the problem he told me to go to Ford and I went to Ford and they took 2 days to tell me they don't know what's the problem. Today I was on my way home on the highway I come to slow down getting off on my exit and the car just shuts off and the steering wheel gets tight and I can't move or turn it. There was cars next to me and behind me and in front I could of got hurt or put others in danger. This is not safe for Ford to have vechiles out on the road like this with not source of how to fix it or any warning light.
Passenger side rear door will not open unless released from the outside. This vehicle is a takata airbag recall, I have rental from Ford, and I would like this issue addressed when the airbag replacement becomes available. I believe it to be a safety hazard. No one is driving this vehicle.
A letter regarding nobody has to seat on the front passenger because of the airbag but how long still- its been years? we went to private company for the aircondition to be replaced since kengrody Ford maintenance has not done us good not only expensive but did not work after the maintenance. This car is not a great car although its already been service a lot of times. Thank you.
On October 25, 2018 I put my vehicle in reverse when it suddenly accelerated at a high rate of speed. It hit the curb and continued to accelerate into another parked vehicle which cause that vehicle to hit a building and then my vehicle continued in reverse and hit another car and then continued until my vehicle hit a GMC truck which finally stopped my vehicle. During this entire episode, I was unable to get control of my vehicle at no point was I able to use my brakes as they did not respond. Alf this occurred in a small commercial parking lot and all vehicles involved were stationary except mine.
Takata recall, Ford Motor Company safety recall notice 16S26 /NHTSA recall 16V-384 was issued by letter dated July 2016 and have not received anything from Ford Motor Company. On 10/25/17 received notice from takata holdings Inc. Where they had filed chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in the us.
Drove car to store, parked and turned off. While gathering my purse I noticed smoke coming from front of car. Opened up hood and flames ignited. Appeared to start @ O2 sensor @ manifold. Burned 2nd coil pack and wiring harness. Burnt up radiator fan and upper radiator hose. Fire department called to put out. Car is at local Ford dealership to determine how and why fire started. So far no response or idea from them. They show one recall on corrosion of fuel tank, but say it did not contribute to the fire.
On the stated date, my son pulled the handle to release the passenger side front door and the door did not open. I have traced the problem to a defective door latch mechanism. The cable is intact and the problem is inside the door latch. I am of the opinion that this is a safety issue and not one that I the consumer should have to bear the burden of parts and labor.
Back door was not latching and unable to close. My vehicle had to be towed from my employment to my residence as the door kept popping open. Ford fixed the latch for $330, the dealer special ordered a new latching system for my 2010 Ford Edge.
I have only owned my 2010 Ford Edge less than a year and the panoramic moonroof motors went out. Not just one, but both. I live in Wisconsin and really can only use the moonroof maybe 4 months out the year, and for both motors to blow is not good. My faith in Ford has dead. It is going to cost me over 1,000 to fix.
The rear window shattered for no apparent reason. The car was parked in a parking lot for about 1 1/2 hours on a sunny day. When I got in the car, closed the door, the whole back window shattered. There was no reason for the window to break. Reporting this information as it appears this has been a problem with Ford Edge cars in the past. We are having it repaired using insurance coverage.
