I recently replaced my brake and turn signal light bulb constantly and notice the socket is burnt. So I took it to the dealership I had it replaced. A year later the same instance happen again so I took it to the dealership I had to replace again. I'm noticing a pattern that socket for the turn signal and brake light are burning out
Rear turn signal lamp and socket melted and burnt. Happened to right side then soon after left side. Replacement is showing signs of melting already. This appears to be a safety issue where a fire could happen. I have seen many complaints on auto forums for the same problem on other models and year.
The rear tail light bulbs have a very short life span, every time I replace one, the base of the bulb is always melted. The sockets themselves are burnt, why are these tail lights getting so excessively hot?

My rear turn signals have been working intermittently lately and I thought it might be the bulb. When I went to replace the bulb I noticed that the bulb socket appears to be burnt. I immediately went online to see what needs to be done and realized that there are a bunch of other Ford Edges out there with the same problem. I felt it was necessary to report it in case this is a safety issue that could result in a fire. The Ford dealership claims that they do not know of any other complaints, yet when I look online, I see a whole lot with the same issue.
Rear driver side turn signal light stopped working, found rear light socket burnt and melting. This is a safety issue and may present a hazard. Enclosed pictures of the driver and passenger back tail light sockets
The interior dome lights will not turn off. The only way to turn them off was to pull them down and unplug them. This is a problem with numerous Ford Edge's and Ford should rectify it.
Rear tail light replacement for second time along with marker light. Both bulbs and sockets were black and hot from extreme heat. Cause for concern that this may start a fire.
Stop/brake/signal light burned out 1st time just replaced it! burned out 2nd time a year or so later, noticed the receptacle looked black!! burned out 3rd time a day or so later, noted the receptacle looks really black, I got online and found out this is a common problem with this model car !!!....dealer knows of no recall but I can assure not having a left turn signal in the rear is a real safety hazard !!!! the bulb socket looks as if has almost melted and I think it poses a real danger.
Door ajar warning light stays on, can't lock doors. Interior lights stay on all the time, hard to see at night when driving with the interior lights on. Had to replace battery due to light draining battery. Ford needs to address.
Replaced the tail light bulb for the first time by myself not at dealer and the housing that holds tail light is burnt. I am concerned that this could create electrical fire I my vehicle bulb 13466. Socket housing 13411.
The right rear taillight bulb #4157 has been replaced several times. The socket and the plastic on the bulb is melted and discolored. Ford says they are not aware of any problems but there are a great number of this same problem on the internet. With this much heat there is the possibility of a fire and no fuse or circuit breaker has been tripped.
Badly burned rear tail light sockets. Left rear turn signal quit working, in the process of changing the bulb found the problem to be a badly burned lamp socket. The one on the right is in the same condition. This is a safety problem because it is the brake light and turn signal light.
The rear drivers side brake/blinker light socket is burned black where the light bulb connects to the socket. I've seen other complaints about this on line. This is actually the 2nd time I've had to replace the bulb, but I did not record the mileage (estimate about 40,000 miles) the first time. When I replaced it the first time, I noticed the socket was burned then too.
Headlamp lens, especially drivers side has developed cracks from the inside of the lens. These are numerous and affect the majority of the lens surface. These cracks are so numerous that I am afraid the structural integrity of the lens is in question.
