The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving, there was a hissing noise detected. The contact had to slam on the brake pedal to stop. While her brother was driving, he had to continuously pump the brakes for the vehicle to stop. The ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. While her daughter was driving at 20 mph, she crashed into an unknown truck. There were no reported injuries. There was no police report, fire, or air deployment. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who stated that the vehicle was working as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed her that the failure was due to the brake booster. The manufacturer was contacted, who informed her there was no warranty coverage. The approximate failure was 91,765.
